The sound of a laugh is more contagious than that of a sneeze. Laughter and humor often cause a domino effect of amusement and joy, as well as setting off a number of positive health effects.

Research demonstrates to us that there are many perks of laughing. Laughing activates the chemistry of the will to live and it will amplify your capacity to ward off disease. Releasing a good laugh will calm your body and minimize issues associated with high blood pressure. It can certainly help with problems associated with strokes, ulcers, and arthritis. There even has been studies showing that it may also curtail the risk of heart disease.

A good laugh and sense of humor can help:

lower blood pressure

reduce stress

raise mood

boost brain functions

enhance the immune system

protect the heart

create instant relaxation

connect with others

make you feel better

Laughter and Stress

It makes sense because sensations that are distressful, such as anxiety, stress, anger and depression, are related to heart disease. You cannot be mad or anxious if you are sharing a really good laugh. The University Of Maryland Medical Center did a survey that showed that possessing a good sense of humor in the event of a stressful situation could help the impairing physical effects that we find with distressing emotions. Here are various things that having a good healthy laugh will do for you: it will relieve your stress; boost your temperament and your immune system. It will reduce your blood pressure, benefit your brain function, help you relax and make you feel good and can even protect your heart.

Laughter and blood pressure

People who laugh regularly have lower blood pressure than the typical person. When you begin laughing your blood pressure will incipiently go up then become lower than the regular level, your breathing pattern will then be deeper and that forwards oxygenated blood throughout your body. Laughing will reduce your stress hormone and will boost antibodies to fight infections.

Laughter and the heart

Having a sense of humor might help protect you from a heart attack. Experiments show that laughing can help guard from heart disease and also supported the fact that patients that already had heart disease would be 40% less likely to laugh compared to other patients about the same age that weren’t afflicted heart disease.

Laughter and diet

Ever laugh so hard your belly hurt? That’s due to the fact that we get a pretty good workout when we laugh. It works out your leg and back muscles, respiratory and abdominal muscles, as well as the diaphragm. Laughing deeply will add tone to your intestinal functioning and will have the muscles that keep the abdominal organs grounded be made stronger. You can get rid of about the same count of calories laughing as you can on an exercise bike.

Laughter and stress

Doctors have noted that having a sense of humor gives perspective by helping people understand the reality of a situation instead of to misrepresent it to support their distress. Humor can change the way we think and distress can shift the way we think. It is really not necessarily the situation that brings about stress; it is the weight we put behind the situation. Comicality can adjust the meaning of the situation so that it’s not always so much to handle.

Try these helpful ideas to help better your mood and experience a sense of humor on life. Try to see humor in events rather than be disturbed by them. It will elevate your disposition. Try laughing to help let go of any pent up anger or frustration by thinking about a humorous event to put it in place of the anxiety-producing situation.

There are various kinds of humor, here are the main ones.

Stand up humor or comedy

This is where a comedian gets up on stage and relates many stories and jokes to regale a crowd. This is likely part of the most demanding kinds of comedy that is existent. There is no opportunity for a second chance or re-shoot. This certainly would be the most daunting type of performing there is.

The slapstick humor

This is where a comic or more commonly a group of comics will present a program that includes physical action that causes a amusing conclusion, such as a pie on the face or whacking a person upon the head with a stick. Slapstick comic act is normally quite good for providing amusement to somebody. As a race, we just love to see people get hit . The causes why are likely better dumped with analysts to fathom.

The pantomime

Another kind of comedy, which isn’t as common these days as it was ages earlier, is pantomime humor. This is where an actor or group of artistes will perform some kind of skit that involved totally no talking whatsoever. Their acts would narrate the joke and in turn would make people laugh. This is not easy to pull off. Facial manifestations are very vital when acting out pantomime humor.

Printed humor

Obviously, there is always comedy that takes the printed form also, such as comic strips, jokes and humorous stories. The quantity of comedy that has gone to print cannot be measured. Simply take a look at your everyday newspaper’s comic strips.

The situational humor

This has been around practically since the start of the television age. A situational humor is exactly that. It’s a show that presents some kind of situation inside the duration of a thirty minutes that will eventually solve itself within that half an hour. During this time, the dialogue will be performed in such a manner so as to create gags out of several of the responses and comments. This is a very difficult sort of comic act to pull off as it necessitates both weaving a tale and being amusing concurrently.

Humor is different things to different people. But first, humor is the experience of incongruity.

One person may feel it extremely amusing to watch a person trip over a couch and fall onto the flooring. Another person might think it awful or simply not comical. Some funny story could have a crowd of people very amused in Montreal, while in Paris the same gag will have no affect at all and will appear dull.

There are as many humor as there are places: infinite

A great deal of what we find humorous is connected with the area in which we live, the time we live in and the manner in which we were reared. Moreover the language we talk in is greatly associated with the jokes we feel are comical. This is why, as a humorist, you have to understand your viewers. You have to acquaint yourself with the place you’re performing in.

If you’re presenting a comedy routine in a region like New York, you’re doubtless going to desire to make many jokes about how aggressive and wild the city is. New York is full of things to laugh at. Though, if you’re in a place like Howell, New Jersey, you’ll likely want to abstain from a presentation that jokes about the city.

The word fun is a very subjective term and people have very different notions of what fun is.

For some having fun means going out and partying with friends, for others it means hitting the ski slopes, and for others it means sitting in front of the computer playing games for hours on end. If a person enjoys an activity then that activity is fun for that person. However, the same “fun activity” can be deemed by another person to be either boring or even scary.

Having serious fun is, of course, just as subjective, if not more so. It indicates a greater degree of enjoyment. To an adventurous person riding a motorcycle might be fun but going sky diving is serious fun. To a partygoer, Friday nights can be fun but spring break means serious fun. To a shopaholic buying a pair of jeans is fun but going on a shopping spree is even better.

Of course, being a very subjective thing, the degree at which one enjoys an activity differs for each person so that someone might need to buy a closet-full of new clothes to call it a shopping spree while another person who just bought a whole new set of clothes might consider that already a shopping spree.

The same goes for partygoers, someone might consider having several bottles of beer and dancing for hours on end serious fun while another might only consider it serious fun if he/she gets drunk.
